Exterior Renders
Our plans call for:
(1) 12 x 40 cabin
(1) 12 x 12 solar/utility shed
(1) 22 x 40 carport
These are some exterior renders of those buildings, and associated bits, arranged into our anticipated layout. Everything about everything is the opposite of fancy, and we're OK with that.

The Land Beneath . . .
We'd love a 40-acre slice of desert majesty, with hills and rocks and outcroppings , seasonally active washes and … well yeah, but we're not going to get it. Desert land can be inexpensive, but it kind of has to be flat and featureless — the cinematic stuff leaps up in price quickly. Fortunately, we're OK with flat and featureless, especially if we're proximate to BLM or state land.

So That's the Outside Tour…
Everything is super-plain, easy to buy, easy to modify, and easy to maintain. We like it.
The cabin's small size will make it easy to heat and cool, especially with a layer of closed-cell foam insulation. The carport gives us some valuable storage room along with a shady place to sit. And the tiny solar shed will make an appropriate place to keep our batteries comfortable, while it provides additional storage space.
We could be happy as clams here — especially since, in essence, it's a 5-star base camp.
Now if we can just gather our wits, some coin, some luck, and some energy, we'll get out there.
