We're just about the only family we've got, and we've been living together for years — in a place we take vacations from.

So we're going to sell our house, get rid of everything we don't need, and use our old-guy energy to homestead a little chunk of desert — in a place we take vacations to.

We'll have the beautiful Sonoran Desert to play in, the Lower Colorado River to splash in, a converted shed to crash in, and maybe, with a lot of luck, we can even get a new mini-pickup to flash around in.

It's a shoestring dream, but it's a shoestring dream done right.

Because with luck, we can get actually there from here.
